If you’re like me, you open Scrivener and begin typing in the Editor, one scene at a time. But some days you keep on writing the story and forget to create another scene. Before you know it, one scene turns into three or four. I like to keep scenes separate, so I split them up because later I might rearrange their order.
I used to split scenes by selecting the scene in the Binder and duplicating (command + D)—but that involves a lot of deleting.
Then I discovered the real way to split scenes:
- Place your cursor where you want to split the scene.
- Right Click.
- Choose Split at Selection.
That’s it. Of course you’ll have to change the scene titles—see the screen shot below—but there’s no deleting.
